Preview: Herculaneum Black Cats vs. Perryville Pirates
The Herculaneum Black Cats will head out on the road to take on the Perryville Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Herculaneum and ten for Perryville.
Herculaneum suffered their biggest loss yet this season last Tuesday. They were dealt a 72-40 loss at the hands of Potosi. While losing is never fun, Herculaneum can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while Potosi is ranked 125th).
Meanwhile, Perryville was the victim of a tough 72-46 loss at the hands of Saxony Lutheran on Monday. Perryville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-15.
Herculaneum's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Perryville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
Herculaneum didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Perryville in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 62-58 victory. Will Herculaneum repeat their success, or does Perryville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
