Basketball Recap: Carrollton Trojans vs. Richmond Spartans
Carrollton unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 65-28 loss at the hands of the Richmond Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 72-47 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.
Nolan Quick went supernova for Richmond, going 8 for 17 en route to 21 points plus two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Johnson, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
The victory made it two in a row for Richmond and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carrollton will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Lexington at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Richmond, they will challenge Excelsior Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
