Basketball Recap: Eagle Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Capital

On Friday, Eagle faced Capital in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Eagle Mustangs lost 82-59 to the Capital Golden Eagles. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Eagle still got an impressive performance from Andrew Palferman, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Treyson Anderson, who posted six points.

This is the second loss in a row for Eagle and nudges their season record down to 10-6. As for Capital, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.

Eagle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-44 loss against Meridian on the 29th. Capital has also already played their next contest, an 87-81 win against Ridgevue on the 29th.
