Baseball Recap: Plainfield East Comes Up Short

Plainfield East extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 11-12. They fell 6-3 to the Joliet West Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-5 on Tuesday.

As for Joliet West, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games.

For Joliet West's part, they got a great performance from Colin Horvath as he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

At the plate, Isaac Harris was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Daniel Lukancic, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

While Plainfield East had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
