Soccer Recap: Delta Streets Academy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lamar, Delta Streets Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Lee Academy Colts 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Derek Zuniga and Fernando Ortiz scored all three of Delta Streets Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Delta Streets Academy's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5. As for Lee Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delta Streets Academy will venture away from home to take on Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lee Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Delta Streets Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
