Baseball Recap: Teays Valley Christian Wins Going Away Against Tri-State Homeschool

There's no place like home for Teays Valley Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Tri-State HomeSchool Falcons on Saturday as Teays Valley Christian made off with a 16-2 win. That looming 16-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.

Ryan Breeding made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Teays Valley Christian got a massive performance out of Brody Bradley, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Austin Jarrett was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Teays Valley Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Teays Valley Christian pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Tri-State HomeSchool, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Teays Valley Christian beat Tri-State HomeSchool by a score of 13-3 later that day.
