Jacksonville Christian Academy waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Weaver Bearcats 7-5. That's more bragging rights for the Thunder, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jessie Gannaway spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nick Brodeur, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Jacksonville Christian Academy pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Weaver, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-21 record this season.
