Basketball Recap: Midland Adventist Academy Takes a Loss

Midland Adventist Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-33 heartbreaker at the hands of The Daniel Academy Lions. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 44-33.

Despite the loss, Midland Adventist Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aiden Cowan went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Cowan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Owolabi, who posted five points along with four steals and three blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Noah Lee, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 15 points and four steals. Riley Rose was another key player, putting up two points and five steals.

Midland Adventist Academy's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 11-5. As for The Daniel Academy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-6.

Midland Adventist Academy has already played their next matchup (against Frontier School of Excellence), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. The Daniel Academy has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Guadalupe Centers.
