Softball Recap: Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Finds Home Field Redemption Against Northville

There's no place like home for Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Northville Falcons on Thursday as they made off with an 8-2 victory. The Wolves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.

Gianna McAdams was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. McAdams was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played.

In other batting news, Sydney Hazzard was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taylor Hayes, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Northville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville will welcome Canajoharie at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.9 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Northville, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Schoharie at 10:00 a.m.
