Football Recap: Huntington Beach Piles Up the Points Against Millikan

Huntington Beach got themselves on the board against Millikan on Thursday, but Millikan never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Rams 34-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Oilers.

Huntington Beach got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Daisy Quatman out in front who rushed for 141 yards and one TD on only six carries, and also picked up 46 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 141 rushing yards gave Quatman a new career-high. Roxie Shaia was another key passer, throwing for 235 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of her passes.

Another reason for the win was Huntington Beach's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Zaahra Bhakta was the leader with two.

Huntington Beach's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Millikan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Huntington Beach and Millikan will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Oilers are set to face off against their familiar foe Marina at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Millikan will square off against rival Long Beach Poly at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
