Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grant). They blew past the Dodson Panthers 82-45 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Grant was led to victory by Cooper Ingles and Raiden Searcy. Ingles went 7-for-8 en route to 19 points, while Searcy shot 60% from the field to rack up 15 points. Thanks to that strong game, Ingles now owns an excellent 45.9% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was TJ Hamilton, who posted six points and five steals.
Grant's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Dodson, their defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-18.
Grant and Dodson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. The Cougars (ranked 303rd) will meet Quitman (ranked 84th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Dodson will face off against Castor at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (381 vs. 161).
