Basketball Recap: Conifer Starts off Right with Win over Clear Creek + How To Watch

Conifer had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 67-56 victory over the Clear Creek Golddiggers on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Lobos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dylan Warner was nothing short of spectacular: he went 7-for-12 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. Those 18 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elijah Arndt, who posted 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Conifer smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clear Creek only pulled down three.

Despite the loss, Clear Creek still got an impressive performance from Donovan Duke, who shot 59% from the field en route to 31 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Duke is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Zephyr Schuessler was another key player, putting up 19 points in addition to seven boards and six assists.

Clear Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conifer will head out to face off against Platte Canyon at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clear Creek, they will venture away from home to challenge Jefferson at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
