Roosevelt faced Jackson-Reed in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Roughriders blew past the Tigers 35-13. The  win continues a trend for the Roughriders in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Roosevelt to victory, but perhaps none more so than   David Anderson, who threw for 179 yards and three  touchdowns on only 13 passes. That's the most  passing yards  Anderson has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Gabriel Hudgens, who picked up 85 receiving yards and a pair of  TDs.
 Roosevelt didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over.  Miles Hilton led the group effort, picking up two of those  interceptions all by himself.  Jamal Gilmore got in on the action too, converting a pick  into a touchdown.
Roosevelt's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Jackson-Reed, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
 Roosevelt has already played their next contest,  a  46-19  loss against Dunbar on the 23rd. As for Jackson-Reed, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  41-0  defeat against Coolidge on the 25th.
