Baseball Game Preview: Highlands Christian Knights vs. Jupiter Christian Eagles

For the second straight game, Highlands Christian will face off against Jupiter Christian. The Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Highlands Christian heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Monday. They lost 10-0 to Jupiter Christian. The Knights were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Eagles' pitchers proved too tough.

For Jupiter Christian's part, Carter Scott tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Sean Lehnhoff and Luke Winters did most of the damage at the plate: Lehnhoff went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Winters went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three runs gave Lehnhoff a new career-high. Jaden Kostura was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

The win was the fourth in a row for Jupiter Christian, bringing their record up to 13-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Highlands Christian, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4.
