Volleyball Game Preview: Grand Rapids Thunderhawks vs. Cloquet Lumberjacks + Official Tickets

The Grand Rapids Thunderhawks will venture away from home to face off against the Cloquet Lumberjacks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grand Rapids will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

While Grand Rapids' win against Superior wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Thunderhawks had just enough and edged out the Spartans 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Thunderhawks have posted since September 11th.

Grand Rapids had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 20-25, 22-25, 25-17, 25-20, 15-8.

Meanwhile, Cloquet got the win against Marshall on Monday by a conclusive 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Lumberjacks in their matchups with the Hilltoppers: they've now won four in a row.

Grand Rapids' record is now 14-5. As for Cloquet, their record now sits at 12-8.

Grand Rapids took their victory against Cloquet in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderhawks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
