Recap: Sarasota Christian Blazers vs. Indian Rocks Christian Eagles

After flying high against the Seven Rivers Christian Warriors last Saturday, the Sarasota Christian Blazers came back down to earth. Sarasota Christian took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Indian Rocks Christian. If Sarasota Christian hoped to take revenge for the 45-42 defeat against they when the teams met on Tuesday, then they were left disappointed.

Sarasota Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthias Hulka, who scored 18 points. Hulka is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Frazzini, who scored 15 points along with two steals.

Will Murphree was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points for Indian Rocks Christian. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Murphree has scored at least a third of Indian Rocks Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Keatin Emener, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Sarasota Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Indian Rocks Christian, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Sarasota Christian will head out on the road to challenge Canterbury at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canterbury is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cambridge Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
