Football Recap: Sherwood Piles Up the Points Against Pleasant Hope

Sherwood's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They claimed a resounding 38-0 win over the Pleasant Hope Pirates. The Marksmen's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Sherwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ab Chaikin out in front who picked up 109 receiving yards and three scores, and also rushed for 65 yards. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Chaikin a new career-high. Jaiden Rooff got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Sherwood's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Pleasant Hope, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Sherwood will face off against Stockton/Sheldon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pleasant Hope, they will challenge Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates' defense better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 35 points per game this season.
