Softball Preview: Northfield Raiders vs. Century Panthers
The Northfield Raiders will be playing at home against the Century Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Northfield needed a bit of extra time to put away Mayo. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Spartans and snuck past 9-8. The victory was some much needed relief for Northfield as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Leah Enedy was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Peroutka, who scored three runs while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Century scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Austin 10-3. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded Century with their most commanding win of the season.
