Baseball Recap: Desert Ridge Comes Up Short

Apollo hit Desert Ridge with a six-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jaguars came up short against the Hawks, falling 13-3. The Jaguars just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Desert Ridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Snider, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Snider has snagged this season. Max Abalos was another, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Desert Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Apollo, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Ridge will welcome West Point at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Apollo, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Sunnyslope at 10:00 a.m. The Hawks are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
