Carter G. Woodson had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Winston Salem Christian Lions, falling 9-0. Carter G. Woodson have struggled against Winston Salem Christian recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

The win (which was Winston Salem Christian's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carter G. Woodson will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Quality Education Academy at 4:30 p.m. on September 9. As for Winston Salem Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Caldwell Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Winston Salem Christian will need to watch out since Caldwell Academy have now posted at least four goals in their last four matches.
