Baseball Recap: Cibola Drops Season-High Score on Farmington

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cibola). They came out on top against the Farmington Scorpions by a score of 18-14 on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their two-run performance the game before.

Leo Lopez looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jacob Segotta was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Daniel Kean was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

Cibola kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Cibola's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Farmington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-7.
