Softball Recap: Reagan County Owls vs. Wink Wildcats
Reagan County waltzed into their game on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Everything went their way against the Wink Wildcats as they made off with a 13-2 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Owls, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Brooklynn Reyes made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Reagan County got a massive performance out of Marianna Aguilar, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave Aguilar a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ellie Fuller, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Reagan County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wink only posted an OBP of .348.
