Softball Recap: Williams Valley Triumphs

Williams Valley was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Halifax Wildcats. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Kamri Koppenhaver, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Delaney Bixler was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Williams Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

Williams Valley's record is now 10-1. As for Halifax, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3.

Williams Valley and Halifax should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Vikings will challenge Marian Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (92 vs. 313). Meanwhile, Halifax (ranked 113th) will meet Juniata (ranked 436th) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
