Volleyball Recap: Socastee Comes Up Short

Socastee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the St. James Sharks, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sharks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Socastee was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into St. James' winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-14, 25-22.

Socastee's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for St. James, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Socastee will head out on the road to face off against Waccamaw at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. James does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
