Athens won the last time they faced Illini Bluffs and things went their way on Monday too. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Tigers 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Athens who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-27, 25-13.

Lydia Hart paced Athens' offense, picking up 20 kills. Hart got some help from Arabelle Cunningham and her 28 assists. Cunningham also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Devan Barrett, each putting up three.

Athens' victory bumped their record up to 27-7. As for Illini Bluffs, their loss ended a ten-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 22-3.

Athens has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Triopia/Virginia on the 21st. As for Illini Bluffs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Lewistown on the 22nd.
