Baseball Game Preview: Stevenson Bulldogs vs. King's Way Christian Knights

Stevenson is 1-9 against King's Way Christian since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. Stevenson has given up an average of 18.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Stevenson is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Fort Vancouver, falling 16-6.

Kohl Brown was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those hits were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Briar Cameron, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, King's Way Christian had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Thunder.

The team relied heavily on Reece Johnson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Cade Horrocks, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

King's Way Christian pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Stevenson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Stevenson might still be hurting after the 16-2 defeat they got from King's Way Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
