Softball Recap: Center Point Gets the Win

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Center Point brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They came out on top against the San Antonio Memorial Minutemen by a score of 17-13 on Tuesday. Considering the Pirates' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Grace Geurin was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with two triples, two stolen bases, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in triples. Another player making a difference was Hannah Batcheller, who scored three runs and stole six bases while going 3-for-3.

Center Point always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Center Point's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for San Antonio Memorial, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Center Point will venture away from home to challenge John F. Kennedy at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for San Antonio Memorial, they will welcome Lanier at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. San Antonio Memorial is facing Lanier at the right time seeing as Lanier is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
