Basketball Game Preview: Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears vs. Mountain City Christian Academy Lions

Juneau-Douglas is 0-3 against Mountain City Christian Academy since February of 2020 but things could change on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 9:30 a.m. without much rest, having both just played. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Juneau-Douglas heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Friday. They lost 56-34 to Colony. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Crimson Bears have suffered since December 21, 2024.

Meanwhile, Mountain City Christian Academy faced Wasilla in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Mountain City Christian Academy fell 59-54 to Wasilla. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Mountain City Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 22-6. As for Juneau-Douglas, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-7.

Juneau-Douglas was dealt a bruising 76-29 loss at the hands of Mountain City Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Juneau-Douglas was down 52-20.
