Preview: Buena Chiefs vs. St. Joseph Wildcats
Buena and St. Joseph are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Buena Chiefs will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the St. Joseph Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Buena and four for St. Joseph.
Last Friday, Buena was the victim of a rough 46-20 loss at the hands of Clayton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Buena has scored all season.
St. Joseph suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were outmatched by Absegami on the road and fell 67-36. While losing is never fun, St. Joseph can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while Absegami is ranked 71st).
Buena has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for St. Joseph, they bumped their record down to 3-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
