If Ashe County was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Alleghany on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Huskies fell 3-1 to the Watauga Pioneers on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskies of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Ashe County started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-14, 25-11, 27-25.

Leading Watauga to victory were Caroline Childers and Lilli Combs. Childers had 25 digs and four aces, while Combs had 22 digs and one assist.
