Baseball Recap: Brookhaven Academy Drops Season-High Score on Columbia Academy

Brookhaven Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of Columbia Academy. One positive for Brookhaven Academy, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Caleb Authement was cooking despite his team's loss, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Walt Smith also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Even though they lost, Brookhaven Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Brookhaven Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Columbia Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Columbia Academy beat Brookhaven Academy by a score of 8-7 later that day.
