Baseball Recap: La Salle Wins Going Away Against Colerain

After losing to Colerain the last time they met, La Salle decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Cardinals on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lancers.

Kellan Riesenbeck tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has become a key player for La Salle: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, La Salle let Jack Schroer and Colin Bobowski run wild. Schroer went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Bobowski went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. La Salle is 3-1 when Bobowski posts two or more runs, but 7-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnathan Danzinger, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

La Salle now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Colerain, they dropped their record down to 9-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Salle will square off against Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Colerain, they will take on Ross at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
