Football Recap: Lawson Falls Despite Big Games from Dawson Smith and Grayson Smith

Lawson lost against Mid-Buchanan back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cardinals received a blow as they fell 35-21 to the Dragons. The Cardinals' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Grayson Smith and Dawson Smith certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Grayson rushed for 141 yards and a pair of scores, while Dawson gained 76 total yards and a touchdown. Grayson is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 141 every time he's taken the field this season.

Lawson's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Mid-Buchanan, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Lawson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 51-27 win against West Platte on the 3rd. As for Mid-Buchanan, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 41-7 victory against Lathrop on the 3rd.
