Baseball Recap: Pershing County's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Pershing County had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Incline Highlanders by a score of 7-3 on Saturday. That looming 7-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mustangs yet this season.

Wyatt Hughes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Trenton Rhodes was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Pershing County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-6 when he doesn't). Ayden Montes was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Pershing County's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Incline, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
