Softball Recap: Delta Eagles vs. Frankton Eagles
Delta extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 6-14 in the process. They lost 10-0 to Frankton. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Delta of the 26-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.
As for Frankton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7. Considering they have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
For Frankton's part, Paige Parker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Parker has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Ava Stanley was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Malorie Clark was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Coming up, Delta will head out on the road to challenge Wapahani at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Frankton, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Tipton at 5:30 p.m. The Blue Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.4 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
