Saint John Paul the Great Catholic unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Fredericksburg Christian Eagles by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Wolves couldn't quite close it out.

Coincidentally, Saint John Paul the Great Catholic and Fredericksburg Christian will both be playing Trinity Christian the next time they take the pitch. Fredericksburg Christian will host Trinity Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Saint John Paul the Great Catholic will head out to face them at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
