Basketball Recap: Pekin Finds Playoff Glory Versus Minooka

It's playoff time, and Pekin had no trouble coming through when it counted. They secured a 49-44 W over the Minooka Indians on Thursday. The Dragons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.

Despite the defeat, Minooka had strong showings from Naya Carter, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Madelyn Kiper, who posted 14 points and eight boards. Carter's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points.

Pekin is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-13 record this season. Minooka's loss dropped their record down to 21-11.

As of now, neither Pekin nor Minooka have any future games scheduled.
