Baseball Game Preview: Vacaville Bulldogs vs. Vanden Vikings

For the second straight game, Vacaville will face off against Vanden. The Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vacaville's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Vanden's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Vacaville had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Vanden on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Vikings. The Bulldogs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27th.

For Vanden's part, they got a good showing from Ryan Watson, who kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Watson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Vanden saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daevion Lindsay, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Lindsay hit this season.

Vacaville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Vanden, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
