Baseball Recap: Rancho Mirage Victorious

Rancho Mirage won the last time they faced San Jacinto Valley Academy and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Rattlers walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Wolves. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rattlers.

Jaime Ochoa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adrian Gutierrez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Marcos Ceja Jr. was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

The win got Rancho Mirage back to even at 11-11. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.

Coming up, Rancho Mirage will head out to take on Palm Springs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against Hamilton at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.67 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
