It was a good run, but Centralia unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Columbia Eagles, falling 6-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Orphans were not able to get on the board.

Centralia's defeat dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Columbia, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Centralia will square off against Mt. Vernon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Orphans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Columbia, they will face off against Salem at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
