Football Recap: Greenbrier Christian Academy Takes Down Kenston Forest in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Greenbrier Christian Academy rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Kenston Forest Kavaliers 37-0. Considering the Gators have won five games by more than 28 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Conner Isenberg continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 176 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 79 yards and three TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. He didn't just play on offense: he also made six total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended two passes. Tucker Basnight helped out on the ground, rushing for 87 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Greenbrier Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 277 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 165 rushing yards in 17 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Greenbrier Christian Academy's defense and their four sacks. Brady Countiss was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

When it comes to explaining why Kenston Forest lost, don't look at Devin Dunn. Despite the final result, he rushed for 138 yards on only 13 carries. Dunn's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 105 rushing yards.

Greenbrier Christian Academy now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Kenston Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Coming up, Greenbrier Christian Academy will challenge Chincoteague at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Basnight and Camaury Davis. Kenston Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
