Westville lost 9-1 to Wheeler on Tuesday. The Blackhawks haven't had much luck with the Bearcats recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, Hammond Academy of Science & Tech waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Wolves 13-5. Considering the Hawks have won 12 contests by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Boudi Sullivan and Noah Michniewicz were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Sullivan tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Michniewicz struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. At the plate, Sullivan got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Michniewicz got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and two runs.
In other batting news, Hammond Academy of Science & Tech got a massive performance out of Austin McKimmy, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave McKimmy a new career-high. Camden Foster was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Hammond Academy of Science & Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are 14-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Westville's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Hammond Academy of Science & Tech, their record is now 16-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Westville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hammond Academy of Science & Tech struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 14.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Westville took their victory against Hammond Academy of Science & Tech in their previous meeting back in May of 2018 by a conclusive 11-2 score. Will the Blackhawks repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
