Soccer Game Preview: Wenonah vs. Bessemer City

The Wenonah Dragons will take on the Bessemer City Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wenonah will be strutting in after a win while Bessemer City will be coming in after a loss.

Wenonah barely beat Woodlawn the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Dragons' defense stepped up to hand the Colonels a 3-0 shutout on Monday. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Wenonah yet this season.

Meanwhile, Bessemer City came up short against McAdory on Thursday and fell 4-2.

Wenonah has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-10-1 record this season. As for Bessemer City, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-11-2.

Wenonah might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Bessemer City in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
