The Sterling Tigers will face off against the Weld Central Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Sterling is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Sterling needed a bit of extra time to put away Platte Valley. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Broncos.

Memphis Dempcy was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Dayten DiOrio was incredible, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Aiden Ortega was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Weld Central's offense. They came up short against Eaton on Wednesday, falling 6-0. The Rebels have struggled against the Reds recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Weld Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Sterling, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Sterling skirted past Weld Central 3-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
