Soccer Recap: Fort Payne Comes Up Short

Fort Payne lost against McCallie back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats came up short against the Blue Tornado, falling 7-1. While losing is never fun, Fort Payne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 57th in Alabama, while McCallie are ranked fifth in Tennessee).

Fort Payne's goal came courtesy of Hayden Chambers, who's now up to ten this season.

Fort Payne has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14-2 record this season. As for McCallie, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1-3.

Fort Payne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McCallie, they will square off against Baylor at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
