The Bishop Moore Hornets will square off against the Monsignor Pace Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Moore is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Bishop Moore will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Father Lopez, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Bishop Moore had just enough and edged out Father Lopez 7-5.
Harrison Smith looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jesiah Woodside, who scored three runs and stole a base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carlos Rubio, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Monsignor Pace waltzed into their match on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Panthers.
Daniel Fumero tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned runs any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Yuniel Paredes was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Vazquez, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Monsignor Pace lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Bishop Moore pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs over those games. As for Monsignor Pace, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bishop Moore hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364.
