Soccer Recap: Sacred Heart Takes a Loss

Sacred Heart was the 4-3 winner over Gulfport when they last played one another back in January of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. The Sacred Heart Crusaders fell just short of the Gulfport Admirals by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Admirals are ranked fifth).

Sacred Heart's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for Gulfport, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1-2.

When Sacred Heart and Gulfport next hit the pitch, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Sacred Heart will try to stop Ocean Springs' five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Meanwhile, Gulfport will square off against St. Stanislaus and their ten-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
