Basketball Game Preview: Fort Morgan Mustangs vs. Sterling Tigers

Fort Morgan hasn't had much luck against Sterling recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Fort Morgan Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sterling Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Fort Morgan came up short against Eaton on Thursday, falling 63-39. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Reds are ranked 110th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Sterling challenged Resurrection Christian on Friday. Sterling received a blow as they fell 68-52 to Resurrection Christian. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Sterling's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Fort Morgan, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.

Fort Morgan lost to Sterling at home by a decisive 66-52 margin in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sterling's Colin Linn, who went 11-for-21 to rack up 31 points and seven rebounds. Now that Fort Morgan knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
