Basketball Recap: Southwest Florida Christian Takes a Loss

Southwest Florida Christian was the 75-56 winner over Seacrest Country Day when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Southwest Florida Christian King's fell to the Seacrest Country Day Stingrays 68-62.

When it comes to explaining why Southwest Florida Christian lost on Friday, don't look at Asa Rogosich. Despite the final result, he went 14 for 29 on his way to 38 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 61.3% of Southwest Florida Christian's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Cross Newton was another key player, putting up two points and three steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seacrest Country Day to victory, but perhaps none more so than Fedor Vuksanovic, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Leon, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points.

Southwest Florida Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Seacrest Country Day, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

Southwest Florida Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 86-65 victory against Highlands Christian on the 4th. As for Seacrest Country Day, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 81-73 defeat against Aubrey Rogers on the 4th.
