Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Medfield's Third in Last Four Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hopkinton, Medfield was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Dedham Marauders. Surprisingly, this marked the Warriors' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

The team relied heavily on Lindsay Barrett, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Connie Hillenmeyer, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Medfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Medfield is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Dedham, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Medfield will welcome Norwood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Dedham, they will host Medway at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
